After another morning spent wiping condensation off the old bay windows, I decided it’s time to stop putting off the renovation. I’d love to replace them with a modern setup that improves insulation without losing the character of the house. If you’ve recently arranged bay window installation, I’d really appreciate hearing which company you went with and whether you’d recommend them.

Condensation battle is endless with old bay windows - we were literally running a dehumidifier every morning just to keep the sill from dripping. The final straw for us was finding mould starting to creep around the frame edges despite cleaning religiously. That's when we admitted the seals were completely gone and it needed a full replacement, not another "deep clean." We wanted to keep the period look but actually improve insulation, so double-glazed with a traditional finish. Looked at several firms and a lot just wanted to push standard uPVC that would've clashed with our house style. Custom bay windows had options that matched the character better, and they were upfront about U-values and what we'd actually save on heating. Installation took a day, zero drama, and condensation's basically vanished now. House still looks like itself from outside too, which was the main worry.
